"PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS"

44TH ANNUAL MEETING

PAUL CAPOTOSTO

Connecticut DEP Wildlife Division - Wetlands Restoration Program

First I want to say welcome to the 44th Annual Meeting of the NMCA here in Lincoln, NH. I know some of you were interested in the snow here at Loon Mountain. Wally regrets that there is no snow but there are other tourists sites to visit. I want to talk with you about what the Northeastern Mosquito Control Association has done in 1998. The Local Arrangements subcommittee worked very hard all year to set this annual meeting. I would like to thank the committee for their time and effort. The Officers and the Board of Directors met several times in 1998. Thanks to Tim Deschamps for keeping the NMCA web page updated. Check this on the Internet at http://www.nmca.org. Tim is also putting together the NMCA Newsletter. If anybody has any articles or pictures please send them to Tim, so he can put these items into the newsletter and on the web page. I also want to thank those officers and board members who will be leaving the board. Thank you Robert Kent, Past President for your usually wisdom about things. Thank you Curt Best for your help in taking charge of the Exhibitors. Thanks to Sarah MacGregor and her Program committee for putting the excellent program for this meeting and for the Scholarship & Awards committee. Thanks to John Smith for taking care of the Proceedings. Our NMCA Proceedings is used more as a reference in the past two years. Of course, thanks to Raymond Zucker, Secretary and David Boyes, Treasurer for all of the hard work they do to remind us about meetings dates and if we can spend any money. Thank you Wally Terrill for his help in the Local Arrangements committee. Thank you George Christie for your contributions in helping to start the NMCA newsletter and thanks to Alan Gettman for all of your helpful ideas and for taking charge of the audio visual aids department. As you can tell, as President I relied on the Officers and the Board of Directors to do quite a lot to prepare the Association's meetings and business. The NMCA 44th Annual Meeting has a great program and I hope you will participate in the daily activities. Finally, I would like to thank you, the membership for supporting me during the last two years as your President.
