ABSTRACT

AGNIQUE® MMF Mosquito Larvicide and Pupacide is a newly registered pesticide, whose mode of action is physical suffocation through formation of a thin surface film, rather than chemical toxicity. The active ingredient is very safe, as it is widely used in cosmetics; and the pesticide label allows for its use in all habitats including drinking water, recreational areas, croplands, etc. Application of AGNIQUE® MMF is made using conventional spray techniques; however, manpower costs for application are minimized by AGNIQUE MMF's unique spreadability. Additionally, due to its wide spectrum of activity (1st instar through pupae), and average 10-14 day residual, AGNIQUE MMF is easy to use and highly efficacious. Data from 1998 field evaluations will be presented, demonstrating AGNIQUE MMF's effectiveness over a broad range of habitats and conditions: heavy vegetation, sewage and waste ponds, strong winds, cold temperatures.
