ABSTRACT

Ever since men began moving earth thousands of years ago, erosion control practices have slowly evolved.  More recently, and especially since the Clean Water Act was passed several decades ago, the pace of this evolution has dramatically accelerated.

When the Clean Water Act became law in the United States, approximately 40 years ago, there was an immediate mandate for effective erosion control solutions.  Faced with a demand for effective solutions, the erosion control industry has risen up and grown rapidly.

Specifiers and users of erosion control technology now have a wide and deep toolbox at their disposal, and this workshop will strive to help participants make effective choices when dealing with common jobsite erosion control issues.

Detailed discussion will focus on advances in both technology and best management practices for permanent erosion control solutions.

The principal goal of this session will be to provide participants with information that timely, practical, and immediately useful.
